It’s time to cast your vote… for your favorite canine
The Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) is seeking its new Spokesdog for clean water. Partnership for the Delaware Estuary (PDE) and PWD have collaborated with four Philadelphia animal shelters (Morris Animal Refuge, Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Pennsylvania SPCA, and Street Tails Animal Rescue) for the contest.
The winning Spokesdog will spend the year teaching Philadelphians about the impact dog waste can have on local waterways, and that pet owners should always pick up after their dogs. Dog waste is a pollutant that can contaminate local waterways including the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers.
The four shelter dogs this year are Halo, Fancy Boy, Sophie, and Seven. You can vote for your favorite pup by visiting Delaware Estuary on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and liking the image of your favorite pup.
