Support a Clean, Local Energy Hub: Choose PA Wind in 2015
There’s a lot of buzz right now about Philly’s “potential” as an energy hub for natural gas and a new pipeline, bringing jobs and money to the city. However, there’s a ton of dangers, too: leaks, air pollution and overall Philly residents’ health.
Yet Philadelphia doesn’t have to be an energy hub for natural gas and fossil fuels to be a powerhouse – we have the potential to be a clean energy hub right here.
There are many wind and solar solutions locally, producing clean energy for residents, schools and businesses. Pennsylvania currently has 24 operating wind farms, with the potential to power 330,000 homes each year.
Plus, PA wind energy generates between 3000-4000 new jobs. If we increased our wind energy by 1/3, we’d kickstart $1.2 billion to PA’s economy.

There are always options at any given time to save money by getting renewable electricity. https://MakeBenProud.com is updated every Friday, strictly unbiased, to show the PECO wind & renewable supplier options. Not only does it save money while helping the environment, but gives the lower cost renewable electricity generating plants a competitive edge over fossil fuels. To take it a step further, it can help drive electricity prices down because renewable electricity costs considerably less than conventional generation to produce (See chart 4 on page 13 of http://www.puc.pa.gov/Electric/pdf/AEPS/AEPS_Ann_Rpt_2017.pdf ). It’s win-win-win!
Don’t mind the PECO Price To Compare was just announced today to be going down to 6.74 cents on December 1, while one of the most competitive suppliers simultaneously annonced a rate increase. It doesn’t matter because under these circumstances, most likely what will happen over the next month the various suppliers will pivot for their new perspective competitive price strategies. It’s to be expected after such a Price To Compare announcement. The environmentalists win from the succeeding competition. It’s easily followable on https://www.makebenproud.com/
