Where Can I Recycle Hardback Books in Philadelphia?

When most people think of recycling books, they think of donating or selling them.

This is a wonderful and encouraged option, but hardback books and encyclopedias can actually be recycled in your single stream recycling bin “a few at a time”, according to RecycleByCity.

Basically, they can be recycled, but not your entire collection in one swoop. Here are some fine donation options as well:

Where can i recycle hardback books & encyclopedias in philadelphia?

  • Amazon: Amazon will buy any and every book. This is a great option for selling your used Hardback Books and Encyclopedias.
  • The Book Trader: (7 North 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106) This cute used book shop is located in Old City Philadelphia will gladly buy used books, which includes encyclopedias and hardbacks.
  • The Spiral Bookcase: (112 Cotton Street, Philadelphia, PA 19127) This quaint used book shop in Manayunk is another great place to sell your books.
