90s kids: Recycle old Barbies & Matchbox® cars with Mattel’s new program

Another toy recycling program debuts with a major brand

Recycling old toys can be a challenge, so we recently shared a few recycling programs.

Mattel, toy manufacturer of Barbies and racecars has debuted another toy recycling program.

Mattel PlayBack will recycle and reuse content from old toys to make new ones and downcycle materials they can’t use. Brands exclusively accepted in the program include Barbie®, Matchbox® and MEGA at the time of publication.

How it works

  1. Visit the Mattel Playback website.

2. Print the prepaid shipping label.

3. Package the toys and mail them back to Mattel.
