The lot at 313 S. Broad Street includes a lush garden, PHS’s official tree-lined welcome area, elevated lawn area, flowering plants, and try spotting some elements from the PHS 2013 Philadelphia Flower Show. More importantly, the mobile beer garden will be rotating local craft beers, sangria and root beer each evening. Locally sourced food by Garces Group & Chef George Sabatino is available with your cold brew.
University of the Arts students will bring special performances, sculptures, photography & design exhibitions along with live music.
Yesterday’s kickoff had a program including locals Drew Becher (President, Pennsylvania Horticultural Society), Sean Buffington (President, University of the Arts) and Alan Greenberger (Deputy Mayor for Economic Development/Director of Commerce).
The PHS Garden will be open 7 days/week, with garden access Monday – Friday, 11 am – 2 pm. Mobile Beer Cart will be open Monday – Thursday, 5 – 10 pm, Friday & Saturday, 1 – 11 pm and Sunday, 12 noon – 10 pm. The Pop Up Garden will be open until mid-October. More details on PHS’s website.
