Philadelphia Leaf Recycling 2014: What You Need to Know

Are you psyched to drop off your leaves for recycling?

The Streets Department leaf recycling 2014 drive has begun, alleviating landfills from a few compostables. (Sound familiar?) And it’s the perfect highlight for our Where Can I Wednesday column!

Here’s the 2014 Leaf Recycling Guidelines for Philly:

What: Leaves wanted! Gather your leaves only in biodegradable paper bags – no plastic or reusable bags accepted. Also, make sure not to mix trash or recyclables with the leaves and make sure they don’t exceed 40 LBs.

When: The 2014 Leaf Collection & recycling program is running now through Friday, December 19th.

Where: You can either drop off leaves at designated locations on Saturdays or Sanitation Convenience Centers when they are open.

Bring your bagged leaves to city-wide drop-off locations on Saturdays from 9 AM to 3 PM, minus the exception of Saturdays following Veteran’s Day and Thanksgiving holidays.
