Night Kitchen Bakery: Wedding Cakes, Brownies & Treats
Looking for a green wedding cake in Philadelphia?
The Night Kitchen Bakery has been a Philadelphia landmark for over 25 years with infamous cakes, “Best of Philly” brownies, sticky buns. To top it off, they recently became a Certified Green Restaurant (like Pita Pit) from the Green Restaurant Association. The GRA is a non-profit organization that helps restaurants become environmentally sustainable.
Night Kitchen Bakery’s green moves:
- Installing a programmable thermostat
- Low flow faucet aerators and spray valves to conserve water
- Sourcing recycled and chlorine-free napkins, office paper, and menu paper
- Full-scale recycling program
- Eliminated the use of Styrofoam
- Composts food scraps
Owner Amy Edelman explained their movement: “We’ve baked thousands of cakes and pastries for years, and now we can offer our customers piece of mind too. When they see our Certified Green Restaurant distinction on the window, they’ll know we’re doing our part to conserve energy and water, recycle, and source sustainable ingredients.”

Recycleable napkins are a great idea. Everyone throws them away anyways. It’s like toilet paper. And at least you’re helping the environment.
Hi Zegarek – Good point. I believe the ‘recyclable’ napkins would be cloth, rather than paper. I realize that cloth napkins are typically used for more formal dinners, but also have heard of people implementing a ‘one napkin for day’ rule to cut back on their use. Also, try not to take excess napkins when at a fast food eatery or restaurant to cut back on use!
Imagicakes Cake designers has been operating green since inception. We recycle, use no stryro foam and compost privately. Please let your “green” conscious readers know. We also provide allergy free and gluten fee products.Thank You
