Green Event Round-Up: Eco-Friendly Philadelphia

This early spring weather has lots of green Events in Philly coming up!  See all the exciting happenings in Philadelphia in the next month:

Saturday, March 13 – April 10th: Galleries at Moore College of Art & Design will host Earth Matters: the 2010 NCECA Invitational Exhibition that offer thought-provoking artistic experience confronting enviro-issues of agricultural practice, energy consumption, resource management, role of technology & human health. Wednesday, March 17th: Test your eco-knowledge with Green Quizzo at the New Wave Cafe Bar & Restaurant.  Enjoy specials & delicious vegetarian/vegan entrees like seitan-fried rice, braised veggie tacos, tofu of the day & more! Wednesday, March 17th: Enter the Greenzys contest before 3/17 by posting a picture of pets, children or families being green and the photo with the most comments wins a Greenzy  Toy made of 100% recycled materials! Enter the contest here.

Tuesdays – March 16 – April 20 from 6-9 PM: Residential Green Building Principles and Practices Workshop For Builders and General Contractors is a six-module workshop to learn the principles and practices of residential green building. Attendees will receive a certificate of completion and be able to compete in the green building market. Saturday, April 10th: GReenINChestnutHill/GRINCH, a grassroots environmental organization is organizing its second Weird Waste Day from 1pm-4pm.  Bring your electronic waste including TV’s, computers, cell phones & key boards at a cost of 40 cents/pound. (What a steal compared to the cost for Mother Nature!) Saturday, April 10: Philadelphia Beekeepers Guild presents a “Beehive Heaven hands-on Workshop” from 2:30-6 PM to assemble their own hive from an Amish-made beehive kit.
