‘Twas the night before Philly Beer Week… And all through the town…

We woke up from our dream and got psyched to drink locally! Woohoo!

OK, so Philly Beer Week  starts today, June 1st.  This glorious week (and a few days…) is a 10 day celebration of our amazing beer-drinking city… Rather than importing brews, let’s stay on our love all things local tangent and enjoy just a few of the local & sustainable beverages of the week:

• Yards Brewing Company, Philly’s most sustainable brewery, is ALL over Beer Week. Meet them at Brigid’s Bar & Restaurant on Monday from 5- 12 PM or one of their many other events.(Search by brewery to see what’s going on!)
• Slightly further away, Long Trail Brewing of Vermont totally brings “Environmentally Conscious” brews to a new level: on top of trying to reduce their carbon footprint, they feed their spent grain & hops to cattle and condense steam from the brewing process to heat water for the next brewing cycle… saving up to 2000 gallons of propane per month! They have events tonight at 5 PM at Doobies bar, Tuesday June 5th at Wrap Shack (6-8 PM) & on Wednesday June 6th at Grace Tavern from 4-7.
• Celebrate Vermont’s Best: Long Trail Brewing Co, Otter Creek Brewing & Wolavers Organic Brewing on Tuesday at the Wrap Shack from 6-8 also celebrates Otter Creek & Wolaver’s organic ales.
