Did you hear a local green tech company that created charcoal to to help our carbon footprint is in the running for a cool $25 mill from Richard Branson’s Virgin Earth Challenge?

On that note…

We were so psyched to check out No Lib’s 2nd Street Fest this weekend that we thought our week started Tuesday instead of Monday. Don’t fret, friends: It’s time to get our calendar of events straightened out this week.

  • Eat SUPER Local: On Wednesday, August 6th, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant will have a “Philly Grown, Philly Raised” menu with exceptional produce from Weavers Way Farms at Saul Agricultural High School and Awbury Arboretum, located within 10 miles. Focused on locally raised ingredients and paired with Iron Hill’s (on-site  brewed) award-winning beers, the a la carte menu additions will be available for locavores from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Miss this Wednesday? The first Wednesday in September will be a repeat experiment. Iron Hill, 8400 Germantown Ave, Phila.
  • Angel of Losses Book Reading: Our environmental friend Michelle Feldman (of Keep Phila Beautiful)’s sister Stephanie is releasing a book and hosting a reading at the Barnes & Nobles in Rittenhouse Square.   • Green Drinks returns this Wednesday, August 6th at various Philly locations. Celebrate South Philly Green Drinks’ 3 year anniversary or stop over in one of the other locations. 6-8 PM, various around Philly & South Jersey.
  • Walking Tour of Philly Parks: This Thursday, August 7th from 5:30-7:30, join Parks Alliance Board President, Bob Thomas, for an easy walking tour of many beautiful places and unknown parks in Rittenhouse and Fitler Square. Pumped from parks after? Join an optional dinner and talk about  the role of parks in the revitalization of our city’s neighborhoods.   • Women Bike PHL Coffee Club: Join women that bike on Weds morning from 8-9 AM to talk about biking in the city.
