Happy Monday, Readers!

Whether you’re looking to do some gardening, bring the kids out or want to try your own hand at pickling, Philly has plenty of events for you.

We’ve rounded up the best green events in the city this week of July 14th:

  • Pickling Party: Like pickles…or pickled anything? Come to a pickling workshop hosted by Ticketleap’s own pickling expert, Matthew. The party will include happy hour drinks and pickled snacks while you’re working on your own jar of picklings to take home! Wednesday July 16th, 6 – 8 PM, 2401 Walnut St., $10, Tickets.
  • Annual UC Green Pruning Club: Join the UC Pruning Club and other volunteers as they come together to green, groom, and tend to Philly’s street corners. Please can come equipped with gardening supplies, if you can! Monday July 14th, 6:30 – 9:30 PM, 46th & Market St.
  • Rockland Street Children’s Fun Day: Philadelphia’s Philly Rising and LaSalle University are hosting a fun day of block party activities this week. Come join in on Arts & Crafts, a Litter Scavenger Hunt, Plant-a-Seed and more! Tuesday July 15th, 9 AM – 3 PM, Rockland Street School
  • Rockland Street Community Garden Workday: Garden members, residents and volunteers from Philadelphia’s Philly Rising initiative and LaSalle University are coming together for a community workday. Help continue the completion of Rockland Street’s Community Garden and Pocket Park! Wednesday July 16th, 9 AM – 3 PM, 15 W. Rockland St.
  • Connect to Local Capital: The Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia is hosting a networking event this weekend. Join representatives from the Women’s Opportunities Resource Center, Finta, The Merchants Fund, The United Bank of Philadelphia, and more who will be sharing information and resources that can help you grow your business. Linh studies Architectural Technologies at Philadelphia University and spent a previous semester studying Sustainability in Copenhagen, Denmark. These experiences home and abroad inspired her to take a closer look at her personal impact on the environment and ways to lessen it. Whether she's reminding others to recycle or supporting local farmers markets, she knows those small steps can add up to a greater positive change. View all posts by Linh Kostiuk
