Obama Visits Bucks County to Talk Energy

Obama swung by a wind-turbine Plant to talk about Energy, reducing US oil imports and getting clean Energy on Wednesday afternoon.   This coincides with Obama’s announcement for re-election. Luckily, Philadelphia is producing a whole-lot of green-energy jobs as part of Obama’s energy initiatives. But as we saw from his State of the Union Address, he needs to step up his actions and talk less about the changes.

“These are not your father’s windmills,” Obama told about 400 workers and guests, with a wind-turbine hub and gear box looming behind him. “You guys are not messing around. This is the future of American energy.

Of course the Tea Party representative, Don Adams pushed for more drilling and spending less money… By my $3.65/gallon gas price I just filled up with, I’m sure using more of a limited resource will be a great answer in the long term. (sarcasm for those of you who didn’t pick up on that.)

  1. Your sarcasm is just sooo cool.

Since green energy is many years from being economically feasible, drilling for oil and gas is
    the smart thing to do.

There’s more than enough oil and gas get us through this century. Of course, we won’t need to exhaust the earth’s supply of it because brainiacs like you will eventually find a way to make renewable energy affordable for all.

    At least I hope so.

  2. Hi Don-

Don’t you think we get in economic/environmental problems because of the very “short-term” problem solve-thinking you’re referring to?

Yes, drilling may be cheaper during “this century.” But, what about future generations? We should invest in green energy NOW. It will save everyone in the long run…

  3. We really do need to invest in finding ways to make green energy more cost effective now so in the future it will be there for everyone to take advantage of.
