Happy World Vegan Day!

Today is World Vegan Day – which makes the founding of the Vegan Society in the UK.

Celebrations across the world from Sydney to the UK are taking place to recognize the meat-free lifestyle.  Locally, Vegan Tom Epler is walking between the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia to New Hope to support injured and abused farm animals for a better life.

You don’t have to be vegan to take steps for a better lifestyle –  Try experimenting with meat-free recipes to cut pollution, save money, lessen mistreatment of animals and lower your cholesterol.

How else can you celebrate World Vegan Day?

• Cook a vegan recipe and invite some friends to join
• Watch a pro-animal movie: Remember that animals have feelings too!
• Read Skinny Bitch or Alicia Silverstone’s the Kind Diet
• Sign up to volunteer with homeless animals or donate toys/food to local organizations like PAWS.
