Friday Roundup: Clean Up Beaches tomorrow, 10 Best Vegan-Friendly Colleges & Household Cleaner Ratings

PHS Fall fest and colorsHappy Friday! With the Philly Fringe Fest back in town and warmer (yet more crisp) fall temperatures, lots is going on in Philly (and around) again this week! Check out what you may have missed (plus a few sweet things to do this weekend!):

  • Tomorrow (September 15th) is the 27th Annual International Coastal Cleanup! You can still get involved with New Jersey cleanups and help out.
  • Is choosing an animal-free meal time university important to you or someone you know? Healthy Bitch Daily has a top 10 vegan-friendly list.
  • We tried figuring out if ordering online is better than shopping in stores (there’s a few circumstances), but how does Amazon Prime’s 2 day service fare for the environment?
  • For those who missed the FREE recycle bins at Greenfest Philly, Philadelphia Recycling Rewards has a Recycling Bin Giveaway tomorrow from 9 – 11:30 AM at Campbell Square (Alleghany & Belgrade). Recycle on!
  • EWG, who rates everything from pesticides to cosmetics, rated Household Cleaners for what’s safe for you and which cleaning can literally kill you… Or at least make you sick.
  • Check out the upcycled & other crazy competitors in the Red Bull Flugtag tomorrow on the Camden Waterfront!
