Farm to City is Looking for Farmers Market Volunteers

Farm to city volunteer

Looking to get some volunteer hours in this summer? Want to meet locavore lovers and those who love to eat?  Farm to City has a volunteer opportunity we are sharing below:

Farm to City is looking for energetic and passionate volunteers to staff an information table at our biggest market, the Saturday Rittenhouse Farmers’ Market. Volunteers will provide information and resources on vendors, community activities, and Farm to City programs including:

  • Answering customer questions about market logistics and vendors.
  • Providing information on Farm to City programming and sustainable agriculture more broadly.
  • Conducting surveys with farmers’ market customers.
  • Taking customer counts.
  • Communicating suggestions and other feedback from community members to Farm to City staff.

Ideally, we are looking for people who can volunteer regularly or semi-regularly on Saturdays from June to September. Volunteers will receive orientation on the market and vendors. Volunteer shifts will be 2 ¼ hours.

If interested, please contact Kelly Creighton at kelly@farmtocity(dot)org. Provide your full name, address, and phone number in your email message and which Saturdays you are available.

Farm to City is the Philadelphia-based program who connects communities, farmers and families year-round. They bring awesome farmers markets, CSAs, buying clubs, and more to the city. Also, they work on getting delicious, local foods in your favorite grocery stores & restaurants.
