Fairmount Civic Association Celebrates Another Successful Cleanup

Cleanup organizer extraordinaire Sam Holloschutz reported another successful cleanup in the Fairmount neighborhood.

On November 14, Sam said that had about 45 volunteers who picked up 86 bags of trash, recycling, and leaves. As Sam described,

I expected about double but it seems like the cold and wind kept a lot of people in doors. We also had the help of Representative Brian Sims and a large group that my friend Steven (from the summer cleanup) brought.

I’m also happy to report that thanks to our sponsors, not a single dollar of the Fairmount Civic Association’s money was spent. Looking forward to the next large cleanup in the spring and I already have people asking when it’s going to be!

The coolest part? Everyone went home with Eastern State passes and/or Sixers tickets. (Not that people need a reward to volunteer… but that’s a nice perk!)

Want to organize a cleanup of your own? Sam gave away many of his tips of planning the perfect neighborhood cleanup here.

Thanks to Sam, one of our neighborhood heroes – for keeping us updated.
