Lessen Your Impact on Vacation: Friday Quickie

Happy Friday! The upcoming holiday on Monday means we get to kick off a loooong (and much-needed) weekend. Have plans to head to the shore or mountains?

Make sure to lessen your carbon footprint this holiday weekend regardless of where you go. Here’s a few quick tips to stay sustainable:

  • Don’t overpack your car. Your car is more fuel-efficient when it weighs less.
  • Don’t overbuy food. You won’t have to throw away leftovers or worry about taking too much home if you plan efficiently.
  • Make sure your temporary housing includes housewares. If not, bring a few sets of plates & silverware instead of depending on disposable versions.
  • Check your weekend house spot’s recycling policy. Make sure to dispose of trash & recycling properly.

Readers, do you have any quick tips for the holiday weekend? Any sustainable adventures (or even Napa, perhaps?)
