Green Wedding Favors
While recently discussing wedding ideas with my recently-named ‘future sister-in-law’, I revisited the “Greening your wedding” idea and contemplated the essential ‘wedding favors’. How can you give your guests an eco-friendly take-a-way?
Here are some ideas to find the perfect earthly gift:
- Soy-based lip balm. (You can even make your own with some supplies & Googling.)
- Natural bamboo coasters
- Donate to an earth-friendly cause
- Earth tags – have your guests plant a flower to remember your big day
- Natural soaps
- Bamboo plants
- Plant-able “You May be Seeded” cards
- Fair Trade chocolate such as Endangered Species Chocolate

I like the idea of seed wedding favors, fun idea for a spring wedding, and it contributes back to the earth.
These are great ideas, Julie. So many times you get favors that no one really wants the day after anyway, but these are all great ways to help friends and family think green and have your wedding be remembered at the same time.

Seed favors are a great gift idea. Not only are they environmentally friendly, but guests will be reminded of wedding fun as they watch flowers or plants grow.
My sister just did seed favors for her wedding. They were really cute with a hand painted pot. I think they went over well with the guests!
These are absolutely eco-gorgeous! It’s so exciting to see that green brides do not have to sacrifice elegance to have a green wedding. For more ideas on eco weddings, brides may wish to check out Dream Green Weddings. It’s an online “eco-boutique” with all eco-friendly wedding specialties like invitations on recycled or tree-free paper, eco-favors (even plantable), earth friendly decorations and more.
Eco friendly favors are a wonderful way to give a meaningful keepsake with a positive impact on the environment. I’m so pleased that couples now have so many beautiful, green options to choose from. Heather is right…they definitely do not have to sacrifice elegance.
