Green Academy Award Nominees – Eco-Watch

Excited for Sunday’s Academy Awards & green Documentaries yet?

I always love checking out the celebs that aren’t shy with their ambitions. Here’s a few noteworthy starlettes that will be making an appearance on Sunday:

• Nominated actor Colin Firth owns a green shop in the UK, Eco Age and supports green initiatives.
• Her husband may be up for Best Actor, but Livia Firth is wearing a gown by Gary Harvey that was made from 11 recycled dresses!  As quoted, “Every element – including zips, corsetry and the original toiles – is recycled. The only thing that we’ve used that is new is the thread that actually stitches the dress together.” (Ecorazzi) Props to Livia!
• Best Actress Nominee Natalie Portman is an infamous vegan. Oh, and expecting a mini-Natalie.
• Best Supporting Actor Mark Ruffalo argues the Kids Aren’t Alright with Fracking and has protested against the harmful procedure for natural gas drilling.
