365 Marathons for the Earth Video – Run for One Planet
While I’m a huge fan of long distance running, I was more than willing to take a mini-vacay from the sport since my Philadelphia Marathon debut in November. Anyone who’s run a marathon can vouch the time commitment and excruciating pain hours after completion. That’s why I was fascinated by this video of two Canadians who ran 11,000 miles (aka 1 marathon per DAY) for a year to inspire eco-action:

Matt Hill & Stephanie Tait ran across North America (Forrest Gump style) and completed their journey in May, crossing through 25 states and 10 provinces. Congrats Matt & Stephanie!

It’s Matt and Steph here from Run For One Planet. We both just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for your very kind and positive words about our run tour! Wish we’d have met you (and the Philly run community) as we trudged along at our usual 6 miles per hour blistering pace when we were in Philly!
O well, at least we meet now (sort of:) Thank you for helping to spread our message of Action, through running and a healthier fit Planet. As a result of choosing to do just ONE new thing for our Earth’s health, your action makes a big difference, collectively.
We look forward to keeping you up to speed with our post tour Legacy for Kids, our just begun writing process for the book and, our speaking tour!
Take care, Happy 4th of July Philly and until we meet again, run healthy and strong:)
Matt & Steph
Hi Matt & Steph-
Wish I knew you guys were running through Philly earlier! I’m also a long distance runner and have been looking for some green races to tell readers about – Will do that soon!
Keep us updated if you make any Philly stops or have any updates! Thanks again!
