Join us at Miss Rachel’s Pantry on Saturday (7/18) as Kristin Lajuenesse, first-time author and founder of the award-winning blog, Will Travel for Vegan Food, visits Philadelphia to promote her foodie-inspired travel memoir, “Will Travel for Vegan Food: A Young Woman’s Solo Van-Dwelling Mission to Break Free, Find Food, and Make Love.”
Kristin’s memoir – a story about a nomadic, solo adventure across the U.S. in a van named Gerty – reached #1 on Amazon for solo traveling books the day it was released (April 23rd, 2015.) During her road trip, Kristin ate at over 500 vegan restaurants in the span of 2 years (including Philly’s own Vedge & Grindcore House); driving over 39,000 miles, through 48 states. She lived in a renovated sports van and entirely off of donations.
As Kristin conducts her first-ever nationwide book tour this summer and early fall, she’s planning a 2.0 version of her journey: to go international and dive into vegan food culture in countries outside of the United States.
