The Meigs Award Town Meeting: Environmental Education & Under-served Audiences

November 17, 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Free

We are thrilled to present the 2016 Henry Meigs Environmental Leadership Award, our highest honor, to Carole Williams-Green, the dynamic founder and president of the Cobbs Creek Community Environmental Education Center in West Philadelphia.  A former public school teacher and administrator, she led the multi-decade effort to rehabilitate the old Fairmount Park Police stables in the Cobbs Creek section of Fairmount Park into an environmental education center, as her vision was to bring environmental education to under-served communities.  Founded in 1991, Cobbs Creek opened its doors in 2001, making this the 25th anniversary of the center’s founding and the 15th of its opening.

After being presented the award, Carole joins a panel discussion for an interactive town meeting on environmental education for under-served audiences.

Enjoy a reception with Carole after the town meeting.
