Tapped: the Movie – There is more to that bottle of water than you think!

Doylestown Food Market presents “Tapped” at 7 p.m. on June 9th, at the County Theater, in Doylestown. “Tapped,” an Indie award-winning documentary film, examines the role of the bottled water industry and its’ effects on our health, climate change, pollution, and our reliance on oil.  The film also focuses on the amount of bottles that are recycled and the estimated 30 million bottles consumed and wasted each day. Lifefactory, producer of silicone-covered glass water bottles, is partnering with the Doylestown Food Market to offer their bottles at 20 percent off during month of June to bring additional awareness to our community.

“We are excited to bring this ground-breaking film to our community to help educate consumers about our water supply, access to drinking water and the impact of the bottled water industry,” said John LaSala, president of the Doylestown Food Market. “Our goal is to generate discussion and continued dialogue.”

“Tapped” is presented in partnership with the Bucks County Foodshed Alliance and caring community sponsors. The goal of the Farm Fresh Film Series is to present relevant, food-related films that engage and inform. Each screening is followed by a panel discussion and audience talkback. Panelists will include a representative from the Bucks County Conservation District and other individuals who will be discussing recycling, landfill, and water safety.

The final film in the Farm Fresh Film Series will be the November 10th screening of “Ground Operations: From Battlefields to Farmlands,” a film about war veterans becoming farmers.
