Join us for an evening of discussion with world-traveling monk Devamrita Swami, who has been sharing the knowledge of bhakti yoga for over 40 years. At its core, yoga means to connect – so come and explore this deepest understanding of love.
The basic principle of the living condition is that we have a general propensity to love someone. No one can live without loving someone else, and this propensity is present in every living being.
Yet this basic need of being able to love and be loved oftentimes remains unfulfilled, forcing us into a constant hunt, a feverish search for the soul connection. We see ‘success’ in all the best movies, TV shows and books, but we may ask ourselves: why does the reality of my life never add up to those scenes of euphoric and unconditional love?
If we desire a soul connection, a relationship that transcends the temporary fluctuations of day-to-day life, where do we look? Where do we place our propensity to love so that it will bring happiness not only to ourselves, but those around us as well?
