River Days Watershed Walk

October 15, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

Take a hike along one of the few intact first order streams in Philadelphia and explore the life of the stream as it flows down to the Schuylkill River. We’ll look at the macroinvertebrate life in the Schuylkill Center’s Smith Run and check out the surrounding forest as we hike on Ravine Loop. Learn about the history of this important watershed as the Schuylkill Center joins 23 environmental education centers promoting River Days, a series of events getting us closer to rivers and waterways this fall. We’ll be hiking rain or shine, so dress for the weather. Our Ravine Loop has a few steep stretches so you should be physically able to hike for an hour. Meet at the Hagy’s Mill Parking Lot.
