Ribbon-Cutting for the River Trail Gateway

Celebrate the opening of our new connection with the Schuylkill River Trail. Thanks to the William Penn Foundation’s generous investment, the River Trail Gateway reveals an unparalleled and previously hidden view of Smith Run’s forested glen, includes a trailside gathering area, adds a bike rack and new signage, and weaves stone, metal, and landscaping together to create our new entrance on the River Trail. Join us to officially dedicate this stunning connection.

Directions: Park along Shawmont Avenue where it meets Nixon Street and walk northwest up the River Trail (with the river on your left) for a half mile until you reach the gateway.
