Devastating hurricanes. Record-breaking temperatures. Melting polar ice caps. Climate change is already affecting our everyday lives, but many don’t understand the science behind it (and some don’t even acknowledge it is real). The Wagner Free Institute of Science welcomes renowned climate scientist, Dr. Michael E. Mann, to deliver our 2017 Westbrook Lecture, a series of talks meant to encourage open discourse on scientific subjects, especially those that are disputed. Dr. Mann will explain the solid evidence confirming climate change and its human influences, the frightening impacts of climate change, and possible solutions to the problem. The lecture begins at 3pm though Wagner’s museum will open at 1. Following the talk, join us for our Annual Member Reception, where Dr. Mann will be signing books (free for Wagner members, $10 for non-members).
