Civics on Tap: How Philly Does (and Doesn’t) Vote

July 20, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

After a record turnout for a midterm election and a heightened interest around how we elected the villain from a movie where the hero is a dog to the presidency, we at Civics on Tap will be delving into that most celebrated of civic duties – voting – and why so many of us don’t do it.

Teaming up with the Committee of Seventy and the ACLU of Pennsylvania, we’ll be discussing how Philadelphians do and don’t vote and what you can do to help make the do numbers rise and the don’t numbers fall.

We’ll have special guest speakers, fun facts about the systematic disenfranchisement of vulnerable citizens, and food and booze – what else could you want!
