Adventure in the Woods for National Public Lands Day

FreeJoin partners from the USDA Forest Service, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Let’s Go Outdoors, Temple University Center for Sustainable Communities, and Awbury Arboretum for a festive day of free family fun and service in Awbury’s AdventureWoods Natural Materials Playground. Adult volunteers will help clear, clean, and restore “The Willows” fairy hut area of AdventureWoods and install new whimsical elements to inspire play and imagination.
Children and families are invited to participate in interactive games, creative activities, and educational opportunities, and free play is open to all throughout the day. Experience the health benefits of time in nature and learn more about the new “Prescribe Outside” program offered by Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.Date: Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022
