The 4th Annual Downtown Glenside Arts Festival will celebrate the arts and Earth Day by featuring crafts, food, musical entertainment, Earth Day activities and wine tasting on Saturday, April 22. The festival will run from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Easton Road in Glenside between the Waverly Road and Glenside Avenue, easily accessible by train, bus or car.
The festival will welcome more than 80 artisans, local crafters and emerging artists offering hand-made pottery, mixed media artwork, jewelry, children’s clothes, custom scarves and much more. Activities throughout the day will include a kids zone, musical entertainment, food trucks, local shopping and events to celebrate earth day. In addition, the Moody Jones Gallery will have a car “wrap” for festival goers to decorate at the event. Plus, from noon until 2:00 p.m. the Arcadia University Public Art Entrepreneurship/Apprenticeship class and Philadelphia-based muralist David Guinn invite the community to learn all about the mural being installed at the Easton Road underpass at the Glenside Station.
Festival partners include the Downtown Glenside Community Partnership, the Downtown Glenside Foundation, Cheltenham Township, Sustainable Cheltenham and Arcadia University. For more information, call 215-576-5583.
