It was quite the year for Green Philly!

Can you believe we’re almost about to see a new decade? 2019 was quite the year for Green Philly!

January 2019

411 Philly Report Cards

After 2 landmark reports on climate were released in the Fall of 2019, we hosted a 411 on the Climate Reports panel featuring Franklin Institute Scientist Dr. Rachel Valletta, Judy Wicks, and PennEnvironment’s Flora Cardoni.

March 2019

April 2019

Volunteer Fair

In April, we kicked off our inaugural Green Week, to celebrate sustainability for Earth Month. We kicked off the week by hosting a Volunteer Fair at the Academy of Natural Sciences and highlighted partner events throughout the week. On Earth Day, we cohosted a cleanup at Smith Playground with Keep Philadelphia Beautiful.

May 2019

May was quieter as we embraced Springtime and took a quick break from events to open up nominations for the annual SustainPHL awards.

Neighborhood Gardens Trust

We hosted a garden tour of Bouvier Community Garden on a Saturday during the Neighborhood Gardens Trust’s Community Gardens Day.
