Riding Indego with Connor Barwin & Capital One

We gave you the scoop that Indego, Philly’s bike share system, is teaming up with Capital One for a discount on your first month of bike share. Just a quick refresher for you:

SAVE ON INDEGO WITH CAPITAL ONE

Capital One is offering its customers $5 off of their first month’s Indego membership when using a Capital One 360 Checking debit card.

Sign up in 3 easy steps:

    1. Head over to rideindego.com. Click the “Become a Member” button and choose “Indego30” membership.
    2. Enter those Capital One debit card’s digits. Specifically, the first 6 digits will serve as your magic promo code.
    3. Get over to an Indego station, hop on a bike & enjoy $5 off your first month’s membership!

Easy peasy, right?

To celebrate this new deal, we took a bike ride with Eagles Linebacker Conner Barwin. We started the afternoon at the Indego station at Broad & Federal Street.

Connor was super nice and noted that he never rode Indego bikes before. He owns 4 bikes (he prefers a road bike and his Trek) and enjoys riding to practice via two wheels.

I noted that Connor must be way more used to the cameras and paparazzi than we were.

Kiera Smalls from Indego gave the run down of how the Indego bikes work. This was a breeze for us since we’ve been using Indego from the start.

We biked down Broad Street to Lincoln Financial Field, in one of the most patriotic (and safe! Those Bell helmets though…) looking bike gangs. There were quite a few stares and thumbs up.

We followed our trusty leader, Connor, all the way to his home field. He happily posed with the Linc’s wind power going strong in the background.

What does a cluster of group of Capital One clad, Indego-equipped bikers look like? Wow, I’m so glad you asked…

Even though the Eagles Linebacker was the star of the afternoon, we were happy to meet other Philadelphians who love blogging and ‘gramming as much as we do. We finally met Jon Lyons, the ringleader of Run 215. He traded in his running shoes (temporarily) to ride Indego with us – even if his form wasn’t 100% on the recommended list. 😉

And we couldn’t pass up one last shot with our fav wind turbines on Lincoln Financial Field… and Connor happened to pose with us.

However, all good things must come to an end. We took one last sweaty selfie with Lyons & Philly PR Girl’s Madison before heading back north into the city.

Thanks for the great afternoon, Capital One & Indego!
